How to use Untape

There are many ways to browse the useful tips here on Untape. Here's a few pointers to help you find the tips you're looking for.
Searching
One of the fastest and easiest ways to find tips is to use our handy find a tip page. Simply click the magnifying glass icon along the top edge of the screen, beside the words 'find a tip'.
On the find a tip page, you'll find a search bar prompting you to enter some keywords. Clicking inside the search bar will let you type any search words you want, just as though you were using the popular yahoo! or google search tools you're probably used to.
For example, if you want to find untape tips related to schools, you might type 'school' into the search bar and press enter. After a few seconds you'll see all the tips that mention the word 'school' on the entire untape site. If you want to find something more specific, like tips about high school or school districts, refine your search by typing 'high school' or 'school district'.
If you're having trouble getting the right results, try refining your search by adding, removing, or changing some of your keywords. With any luck, you'll find what you're looking for.
Browsing
Another handy way to look for tips is to use the 'Explore Tips' block in the left sidebar. From this block, you can browse tips on the site by category, organization, date or topic. You can also find the tips that user like the most by browsing our Favorite tips.
1. Login to Untape. If you don't have a user account, you can sign up - it's free and easy.
2. Once you're logged in, click the 'add a tip' button located along the top of any page (you'll know it by the cute little checkmark icon).
3. Follow these step-by-step instructions to add your tip:
4. When you're finished with the steps outlined above, click 'preview' to see what your tip will look like. If you have changes to make, go right ahead and make them. When you're thoroughly satisfied, click 'Submit'. Your tip is now online for the world to see. Woohoo!
If you're a registered user here on Untape, you can create a personal list of your favorite tips right inside your user account. This list of bookmarks lets you easily access the tips you find most useful or insightful. Here's how it works.
Adding Bookmarks
1. Login to Untape. If you don't have a user account, you can sign up - it's free and easy.
2. Browse the site to find your favorite tips.
3. Underneath the title of a tip you like, find the link to 'add to my bookmarks'. Click this link to bookmark the tip. And that's it!
Viewing your bookmarks
1. Login to Untape.
2. Head to the 'my Untape' page. If you're not already there, click on the 'myUntape' button along the top of any page to reach it.
3. There are three sections of the myUntape page: 'my biography', 'my tips', and 'my bookmarks'. 'My bookmarks' will show up directly underneath the 'my tips' section as soon as you've added some bookmarks.
All your bookmarked tips will show up here, along with information about their author, recent replies/comments, date, and an option to remove the item from your bookmarks. To visit any of these bookmarked tips, simply click the title of the tip.
Removing bookmarks
There are two ways to remove a bookmark from your list:
