When meeting with school support staff or officials make sure you take notes!  Who will be doing what with/for your child; when it will be implemented.  Goals/objectives simply stated in point form will help you to A) assess your child's progress and B) amend those goals/objectives later if necessary.  Bring a notebook! Better yet, invest in a good daytimer with plenty of room for notes.

This is a great idea, you can never rely on someone else to take notes or minutes that accurately reflect your concerns. You can use these notes later to compare to the official minutes.
